The KR12 is the masterpiece. Think of the finest Keith Tweed tones and now add 3 levels of gain that can take it all the way to full on modern metal while always maintaining a very healthy dose of that 50s/60s vibe and mojo. This amp does it all and could easily be anyone's desert island amp. The KR12 is an instant classic kicking out beautiful punchy piano-like cleans in channel 1 with the ability to inch it's way through all levels of overdrive up to the hottest bone crunching metal and doing it all with a quality of tone that only the very finest amps can deliver. If you could only have one, the KR12 is the amp.

After more than 5 years of production, Louis Electric releases the long-awaited head and cabinet version of the award winning KR12 forty-watt EL34-based combo amp.  The KR12 Head and Cabinet will be offered in standard black as well as certain custom colors.  A KT66 version is also available on a custom order basis.

The KR12 was the brainchild of Louis Rosano after years of working with greats such as Hubert Sumlin and Keith Richards.  Sumlin and Richards used a Louis Electric M12 – a 30 watt 12” combo - on Sumlin’s “About them Shoes” sessions.  Based on the feedback from these sessions, Rosano was inspired to build the current model KR12 amplifiers.

The KR12 Head and Cabinet are signature Louis Electric – unmatched headroom, pure vintage tones and midrange roar, with extreme versatility lying just beneath the surface.

The preamp at the heart of the new KR12 Head features four different gain stage inputs. The “Normal” section has two inputs – gain is closely matched between them as is tone, but there is a variance of 6 db.  As a result, each input is imminently useable depending on the live or recording situation.  The “Gain” section also has two inputs – the first input increases brightness and gain relative to the “Normal” inputs, while the second Gain input goes one step further and incorporates a slight mid-boost for searing single coil sounds.  Like many Louis Electric amplifiers, the new KR12 Head features an adjustable negative feedback control which allows the player to literally dial in the amp’s bloom.

The KR12 Cabinet is the perfect compliment to the KR12 Head – an open-back 2 x 12” pine cabinet.  Joints are dovetailed and made to the tightest tolerances available today.  The cabinet is loaded with Celestion G12H-30s and is covered in black tolex with salt and pepper grilles.
